Old Town or also known as Zona Romantica, which is just south of El Centro is one of the best areas of Puerto Vallarta. Old Town has a beautiful coastline and breathtaking beaches, but the small town feel is still there along with the authentic Mexican charm that you won’t see in many other vacation destinations that tourists visit. Old Town Puerto Vallarta has cobblestone streets that you can walk on, and there are enchanting shops and boutiques along with some of the tastiest pastries at the bakeries here too.

In Old Town Puerto Vallarta on Saturday mornings there is one of the best Farmer’s Market that offers visitors with fresh vegetables and fruits, handmade jewelry, artisan crafts, beauty supplies, and healthy choices. There is even a chiropractor there to give you a massage if you want one. There is taco vendors and the tortilla factory located around the corner, and you can enjoy fresh seafood such as aguachile and ceviche. You won’t find any better than here.

If you are into the nightlife that is hip, then you can go to a variety of clubs, lounges, and bars. There is one that will meet your taste in Old Town or in Olas Altas and El Centro.

Old Town Architecture and Culture

In Old Town in Puerto Vallarta has beautiful architecture and amazing art galleries. As you are walking along the streets in Old Town, who knows what you may find or what interesting property you may stumble across. The “Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe” is a local church that is located by the Plaza de Armas. In 1965 a beautiful crown was added to the church and it is a must see when you visit Old Town Puerto Vallarta. Just a few steps from the church and the Plaza de Armas is the Los Arcos Amphitheater that you should visit too. You will not regret it.

Banderas Bay – Mixture of Old and New 

There is something very special in Old Town Puerto Vallarta that you will not find in other cities in Mexico. You will see a mixture of old and new in Old Town Puerto Vallarta. You will see that the locals are very friendly and the handcrafted items are definitely unique. During whale watching season (December – March) you can see humpback whales and dolphins from the beach. Visitors can purchase fresh coconut and oysters on the Malecon from vendors walking along selling their goods. The most beautiful views worldwide are here along with the best shopping and dining.

Puerto Vallarta has an ambience that is hard to describe, but when you arrive here you will experience it first-hand. Puerto Vallarta is one of the best places to visit, but even better to live here. There are many things to see and do, which is why you should live near Puerto Vallarta’s Old Town.
